USA edge epic semi-final@OLYMPIC
Posted on 10:27 by Unknown
The USA grabbed a Last gasp extra time winner to seal their place in the women's Football final for the fifth successive tournament following a 4-3 win over Canada.
Not even a hat-trick from Canada captain Christine Sinclair could deny the USA their place in Thursday's showdown at Wembley.
That match will now be a repeat of last year's World Cup final in which Japan triumphed on penalties following a 2-2 draw at the end of 120 minutes.
Another shoot-out was on the cards at Old Trafford until, in the third minute of injury time at the end of extra time, Alex Morgan sent a looping 10-yard header over goalkeeper Erin McLeod to break Canadian hearts.
Three times John Herdman's team took the lead, but three times they were pegged back to force the additional 30 minutes.
Canada grabbed the only goal of the first half courtesy of a superbly-worked 22nd-minute move.
Marie-Eve Nault's through-ball found Melissa Tancredi on the edge of the area for a lay-off into the path of Sinclair, who proceeded to turn inside Kelley O'Hara before firing home from 10 yards.
The USA failed to register a single shot on target in the opening half, their best efforts two headers narrowly wide from Morgan and Abby Wambach.
But 10 minutes after the restart Swedish coach Pia Sundhage's side were level in bizarre fashion, with Megan Rapinoe scoring direct from a corner curled into the near post.
Then came a burst of four goals in 13 minutes, with two Sinclair headers to complete her hat-trick and take her tally to 143 goals for her country, sandwiching a stunning 16-yard strike from Rapinoe.
But in the 80th minute Wambach also notched up her 143rd goal with a spot-kick after Nault was penalised for handling a free-kick inside the area from Rapinoe.
Morgan ultimately emerged the heroine to give USA their 43rd win in 50 meetings with Canada and keep her team on course for a fourth Olympic gold medal.

BRINGING UP CHILDREN
Posted on 09:59 by Unknown
• Teach values such as honesty, integrity, patience and self-control gradually and steadily, that too by your own example.
• Praise them openly and often, reprove secretly and seldom; reprimand the bad behavior, not your children.
• Teach them self-esteem and self-confidence (something they`ll carry for the rest of their lives).
• Restrict television watching and recreation time. Keep a watch on your children`s company.
• Try to keep alcohol and drugs away from the house, or keep them in moderation.
• Maintain a happy and loving home environment.
• Give a lot of your time to your children, both quality and quantity.
• Make humor and laughter a part of your relationship with children.
• Allow children to grow and learn through the mistakes they make.
• Hug and show feelings of love whenever possible.
• Communicate gently but clearly and firmly.

70,000 virgins dance for African king MSWATI according to the report of 2008 what about of 2012

Tens of thousands of virgin maidens danced today for
Swaziland's King Mswati III in a traditional reed dance at Ludzidzini
palace outside the capital Mbabane. The final day of the annual dance attracted a record 70,000 girls, some of them as young as six years of age.
The girls - dressed in colourful Swazi regalia - came from all corners of the mountain kingdom in a display of pride in their culture and virtue.
Swaziland has one of the highest AIDS prevalence rates in the world, with almost 40 per cent of adults affected, according to UN data.
"As a young Swazi woman, it is very important for me to here. I have been attending the dance since I was 14 years of age," university student Landile Hlongwa, 24, told AFP.
King Mswati has 13 wives, and he could pick another from among the dancers.
"Being chosen by the king would be a bonus for me. I would like occupy one of the royal palaces one day," Hlongwa said shyly.
In 2005 the monarch triggered an outcry when he selected a 17-year-old to be his 13th wife just days after he ended an official ban on sex for girls younger than 18.
The bare-breasted maidens - led by the king's own daughters - sang and chanted traditional songs before thousands of spectators and tourists who gathered at a sports field outside the palace.
Groups of girls, some clad in sarongs bearing the face of Africa's last absolute monarch, took turns in dancing to traditional rhythms while some of the queens and other royals joined in.
"This year's record attendance is an indication that our children have more understanding of what our culture is about," said event co-ordinator Irene Ngwane.
This year's ceremony precedes a controversial "40-40" celebration to mark the impoverished kingdom's 40 years of independence from Britain as well as the king's birthday.
That much-anticipated event has touched off unprecedented demonstrations against international shopping trips by the royal family and the purchase of luxury cars at a time when most Swazis live in poverty.

UEFA president Michel Platini on Monday condemned Croatia
fans who racially abused Italy's Mario Balotelli and said he had
travelled to the Balkan country last year to warn the authorities there
about the problem.
"I'm not happy for Croatia. I was in Croatia a year ago and I'm not happy. They have a good team which plays well but it's unacceptable when you've got a hundred or so arseholes among the crowd," he told reporters in Warsaw.
Croatia's football federation are facing a possible stiff penalty after a UEFA-baced racism monitoring group reported that up to 500 Croatia fans taunted Balotelli throughout their Euro 2012 Group C match last Thursday.
An AFP photographer positioned in front of the fans at the stadium in Poznan, western Poland, also reported seeing a steward picking up a banana from the pitch.
Platini said that during his trip to Croatia, the country's football authorities were warned about the possibility of racist fans at Euro 2012.
"They (the Croatian federation) knew (that it could happen)," he added.
"Any form of racism is a problem. One case is too many."
The case is the first for racism at Euro 2012, which is being held in Poland and Ukraine, and will be eyed closely given Platini's previous assertions that European football's governing body has a "zero tolerance" on the issue.
The disciplinary committee is expected to give its ruling on Tuesday

India May Rreverse Monetary Policy to Boost Growth
Posted on 12:09 by Unknown
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has said it may ease its monetary policy amid fears of a global economic slowdown.
Duvvuri Subbarao, the governor of RBI, told the BBC the bank is likely to shift its focus towards boosting growth. The RBI has raised its key interest rate 13 times since March 2010 in a bid to control rising consumer prices.
However, there have been fears that excessive tightening may hurt growth.
"From here on we could expect reversal of monetary tightening," Mr Subbarao told the BBC's India Business Report.
However, Mr Subbarao added that it was "difficult to say when that will take place and in what shape it will roll out".
'Mindful of growth'

Duvvuri Subbarao Reserve Bank of IndiaWe have always been mindful of growth concerns, contrary to popular perceptions”
Over the past two years, the RBI has focused on controlling the high rate of inflation in the country.
Rising costs of food and other essential commodities such as fuel saw consumer prices rise sharply in India, prompting the central bank to raise the cost of borrowing in a bid to slow domestic demand. The tightening measures have started to have some impact on stemming price growth, with the rate of inflation falling to 9.1% in November, from 9.7% in the previous month.
However, there have been concerns that the high cost of borrowing has also hurt businesses in the country.
Industrial production in India fell 5.1% in October from a year earlier, the first such fall in almost two years.
That, coupled with a slowdown in the eurozone and the US, has raised fears that India's economic growth may slow further in the coming months.
Mr Subbarao said that although inflation still remained a risk, the RBI was aware that it needed to boost growth amid an uncertain global economic environment.
"We have always been mindful of growth concerns, contrary to popular perceptions," he said.
"In fact, in our December statement we said that growth is a serious concern. So I think the balance between growth and inflation will shift in 2012," he added.

Gold price hits all-time high on US debt concerns
The price of gold has risen to a fresh all-time high, and the dollar has hit a four-month yen low, on concerns the US may default on its debt obligations.
The moves came after ratings agency Moody's said it may cut the debt rating of the US, warning there was a "rising possibility" it will default.
To avoid default, US politicians have to agree to raise the country's debt limit by 2 August.
Democrats and Republicans are currently in dispute over how best to do this.
'Shockwaves'The spot price for gold rose to a record high of $1,589.56 an ounce in early Thursday trading, before easing to $1,584.51.
Gold is seen as the number one haven purchase in times of economic uncertainty, but analysts said its rise was also caused by the fall in the dollar, which makes the precious metal more affordable for holders of other currencies.
Against the Japanese currency the dollar fell to 78.45 yen at one point, its lowest level since March, before recovering to 79.61 yen.
The dollar also declined against the European single currency, down 0.6% to 0.7017 euros. The greenback also fell slightly against the pound, with sterling rising 0.2% to $1.6142.
European share indexes were slightly lower in early trading, with Germany's Dax down 0.3%, and the UK's FTSE 100 losing 0.4%. Japan's Nikkei earlier lost 0.3%.
The Dow Jones index in the US closed up 0.4% on Wednesday, but this was before Moody's issued its warning.
Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke has warned that a default by the US on its debt would cause a "major crisis".
Speaking before Congress on Wednesday, he said it "would send shockwaves through the entire financial system".
Continue reading the main storyAs tough negotiations continue on Capitol Hill about raising the debt limit, President Barack Obama reportedly told a top Republican: "Enough is enough."
Talks between Republicans and Democrats are due to resume on Thursday.
"It's a very political environment right now and that's causing all this volatility," said Elke Schoeppl-Jost, chief investment officer at BEA Union Investment in Hong Kong.
Ms Schoeppl-Jost added that markets were concerned about the prospect of further stimulus spending in the US.
On Wednesday, Mr Bernanke said that this remained a possibility if the US economy worsened.
